Medexpress debate: Milestones in the treatment of IBD
Published July 22, 2022 09:41
In recent months, clinicians and patients with IBD have appealed to the Ministry of Health to address the most urgent needs of this group of patients, i.e. to abolish the timeframe for biological therapies, but also to personalize the treatment of IBD. What good has happened recently and what does it mean for patients and clinicians?
- Lifting of time limits: treatment is decided by the doctor and the patient's clinical response, not by the official.
- The portfolio of drugs available to doctors is slowly expanding.
- With multiple medications, treatment can be personalized.
- Ministry of Health responded to the appeal that patients with IBD could be treated at home as much as possible - that is, be able to benefit from subcutaneous therapy.
