On Friday, the Sejm will most likely pass the act on clinical trials together with the introduced amendment enabling pharmacists to issue prescriptions for influenza vaccines. MPs, both from the opposition and PiS, however, want an "amendment to the amendment" so that pharmacies can issue prescriptions with a refund.

The amendment to the act on clinical trials, enabling pharmacists to issue prescriptions for influenza vaccines, is the Ministry of Health's response to the low level of vaccination of Poles - it is intended to shorten the path of patients to vaccination, because they will be able to skip the stage of obtaining a prescription from a doctor. However, in priority groups that benefit from a full refund (the oldest seniors and pregnant women), as well as people over 65 who are entitled to 50 percent. discounts - this will not work, because pharmacists are to be able to issue prescriptions only with full payment of the patient. For now, because MPs want to change this amendment.

On Wednesday, in the second reading, the Sejm dealt with the report of the Sejm Health Committee on the government's draft act on clinical trials. And, also, the topic of flu vaccinations. - An important point is overlooked in this amendment because the patient who purchases the vaccine with a pharmaceutical prescription has to pay 100 percent. This fix only gives you access. Therefore, pensioners, people over 75, and others who, according to the pharmaceutical law, are entitled to this vaccine with relief, will not receive this vaccine with such relief - emphasized Rajmund Miller (KO), submitting an amendment to the draft.

He was accompanied by Marcelina Zawisza (Left). – Pharmaceutical prescriptions for influenza vaccines will not be reimbursed. A 100 percent refund would be ideal, as the Left Club is demanding. However, the issue of reimbursement can be solved today, so that it is the same as for prescriptions issued by a doctor. The club submits the appropriate amendment - she said.

However, not only the opposition wants change. – It is not possible to get a pharmaceutical prescription vaccine for free, and this group includes, for example, pregnant women and people aged 75 plus and children. I have a question for the minister, will the pharmaceutical prescription cover also these people with the reimbursement? – asked the ministry, represented by Deputy Minister Piotr Bromber, Elżbieta Płonka (PiS). The position of the ministry will be announced on Thursday during the morning meeting of the Health Committee, and the decision of the Sejm - on Friday morning.
