Cardio Space - an intelligent system of lifelong learning

Modern cardiology education must be a self-learning system

The pace of the emergence of new therapeutic technologies in cardiology forces a constant evolution…. the lifelong learning of cardiologists. As in the world of new information technologies, business models that guarantee success in the traditional economy of the twentieth century no longer exist. So in the education of doctors and medical students, the first thing that must be constantly modified is the education system itself. Adaptive education of doctors is starting to be increasingly supported by artificial intelligence algorithms and takes place on a platform that integrates the entire theater of medical evolution. "Modern cardiological education for practitioners is not only the implementation of new technologies, but also the use of opportunities offered by remote communication, telecardiology, the use of medical applications and innovations that strengthen cooperation with the patient," says Prof. Marcin Grabowski, scientific director of the Cardio Space project.

The first educational cycle as part of Cardio Space begins on October 13 with a series of webinars, including such issues as:

• Shortening the time and distance in diagnosis and treatment
• Percutaneous valvular interventions
• Advanced Coronary Diagnosis
• Assisting the heartbeat
• Pharmacotherapy

Practical workshops will take place on October 21 at the Department of Cardiology of the Medical University of Warsaw. to:

• Surgery of atrial fibrillation using a 3D system and reconstruction of the left atrium from rotational angiography (conducted by Dr. Piotr Lodziński)
• Implantation of the heart stimulation system into the His bundle/left bundle branch (led by Dr. Marcin Michalak)
• Practical aspects of implantable device telemonitoring (led by Dr. Andrzej Cacko)

The creators of the Cardio Space project are already working on an application that integrates in one intelligent tool access to theoretical and practical knowledge, personalized and updated online scientific reports, the possibility of communication and exchange of experiences, and support for the scientific work of doctors. The application will run on the basis of AI algorithms, in a continuous adaptive mode.
