Modern technologies can help reduce the health debt

Dr. Krzysztof Kuśmierski said:
- We need to reduce the post-pandemic health debt.
- Patients who see specialists later are in worse condition than would otherwise be the case. Surgical treatment is associated with a higher risk of complications, especially in patients with heart failure.
- There will be an increase in the number of patients in Poland who will require LVAD-type mechanical circulatory support.
- Making LVAD technology accessible financially will help us save these patients and reduce the health debt.
- Implantation of the long-term left ventricular support system causes patients with severe heart failure to practically return to normal functioning, to professional activity for many years, play sports, travel.
