- The right to health, to live in a friendly environment is our fundamental right. We politicians must also keep this in mind in our work, which is why it is so important that this conference is being held in the Senate," said Senate Speaker Malgorzata Kidawa-Błońska. - It is about all of us living in health comfort for as long as possible. This is a great challenge, requiring cooperation of various communities and its coordination. Raising the level of awareness in our society is also a challenge. I believe that what we are going to discuss at this conference is invaluable material for the preparation of a real, long-term public health strategy. Public health is, in my opinion, the most important challenge of the 21st century," said Senator Beata Małecka-Libera.
The Congress "Health of Poles" is organized by the Committee on Clinical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the General Council of Research Institutes, the World Hearing Center, the Institute of Sensory Organs and the "First Health" Foundation.

The recommendations also include countering the rise of microbial drug resistance, poly-pragmasy, proactive measures to deal with aging populations and responding to the complex of problems for human well-being posed by climate change. Among the recommendations, the experts also included the need to take care of the high level of education of future doctors, directly referring to the threats posed to future patients (and to the system of medical education) by the activities of medical faculties that do not have a positive evaluation by the Polish Accreditation Commission.
