The government has approved a draft amendment to the law on the National Oncology Network. - We are postponing the effective date of some of the provisions of the National Oncology Network. Thanks to this, we retain the possibility of using all oncological therapies in all hospitals that provide this therapy today. There will be no restrictions," assured Deputy Prime Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The government has changed the deadline for reporting data on oncology care provided as part of the National Cancer Network (NSO). It will be moved from April 1, 2024 to April 1, 2025. The National Health Fund will also have more time to reliably verify entities that provide oncology care. According to government assurances, the adopted solutions are dictated by the welfare of patients. Without the regulatory change, as of April 1, 2024, up to several hundred hospitals could lose the ability to provide services to oncology patients.

- As a result, we are providing oncological support in all hospitals in Poland. An estimated 7,500 patients from 259 hospitals will be cared for," Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz added.
