Prevention, prevention, diagnosis, treatment - the multifaceted role of the family doctor in Poland cannot be overestimated. The World Family Doctor's Day, which falls on May 19, is an excellent opportunity to thank the medics who provide comprehensive care to thousands of patients.

World Family Physician Day was proclaimed in 2010, and since then, May 19 has become a day to loudly highlight the importance and contribution of family physicians to the development of health care systems around the world. In many Western, highly developed countries, the knowledge and experience of the family doctor on the front line play a key role in the diagnostic and treatment process.
A family doctor is called a general practitioner for a reason. It is to him that the patient first comes for advice. To him he is the first to confide his problems. And then it is the family doctor who is the first to try to diagnose them and help them recover. He listens, suggests, encourages, warns, advises... He visits patients at home, performs health balances, refers them to specialists. He has thousands of families in need of help under his care.
- We are happy to be family doctors! That we can accompany our patients in worries and concerns, in happiness and joy. We are proud that despite not always favorable winds and against all odds, independent of us, our patients trust us. We wish all our colleagues that primary health care is always appreciated and plays a key role in the health care system in Poland," says Bozena Janicka.
