- According to current medical knowledge, HPV vaccination significantly reduces the risk of cervical, vulvar, penile, anal and laryngeal cancers and has been recognized as the most effective prevention of these cancers. In countries with high vaccination rates, invasive cervical cancer occurs tens of times less often than where vaccination is not used, Dr. Magda Wisniewska reminds.
The Board of Experts of the Supreme Medical Chamber requests that the Supreme Medical Council send motions to the Supreme Ombudsman for Professional Responsibility to punish doctors who sit in the Polish Association of Independent Doctors and Scientists and subscribe to such pseudo-medical theses that are incompatible with EBM. In the opinion of the NIL Council of Experts, it is necessary to publicly condemn the actions of the Polish Association of Independent Doctors and Scientists aimed at discouraging HPV vaccination and to clearly emphasize the importance of these vaccinations in cancer prevention. The Board of Experts of the Supreme Chamber of Physicians is convinced that taking these actions will contribute to protecting public health and ensuring patients' access to reliable medical information.
Recall, since the beginning of the school year, materials whose authors suggest that doctors do not recommend HPV vaccination have gained popularity in the social media space. Among other things, viral status has been achieved by a poster whose content proclaims: "The Polish Association of Independent Doctors and Scientists does not recommend HPV vaccines for girls and boys." PSNLiN is an organization that was established in 2021. It is known for spreading false information about, among other things, COVID-19 vaccination.
