Laboratory Diagnostics is launching a nationwide information campaign, "Meet the Laboratory Diagnosticians," to introduce the work of laboratory diagnosticians - a profession of public trust.
Laboratory diagnostician, or who?

The National Chamber of Laboratory Diagnosticians stresses that December is a special time for laboratory diagnosticians, among other things, because the Law on Laboratory Medicine came into force on December 10, 2022, and in recent weeks the self-government has also been giving its opinion on a number of key implementing acts to the current law. In addition, last December Monika Pintal-Slimak took over as President of the National Council of Laboratory Diagnosticians.
In the "Meet the Laboratory Diagnosticians" series, diagnosticians point out, among other things, that:
- Nearly 18,000 laboratory diagnosticians work in the health care system .
- Every day, they perform and supervise hundreds of thousands of tests for the safety and health of patients.
- These include tests such as blood count, glucose, hormones or cholesterol, but also highly specialized tests, such as those for the diagnosis of rare diseases.
- The diagnosticians also take care of the quality of the tests performed, exercising daily control over them.
- Laboratory diagnosticians are members of the public trust profession who complete a 5-year medical degree in medical analytics. They then undertake specialty training in one of 13 fields of laboratory medicine and pass the state specialty exam.
- Authorization of each result by a laboratory diagnostician is a guarantee for the patient that the entire process of the test course was performed in accordance with current medical knowledge and in accordance with the applicable quality standards for medical diagnostic laboratories.
- Laboratory tests are the cheapest source of diagnostic information.
