"Poland is really a rich country... Can we afford to waste the competence of professional midwives, while there is a shortage of nurses?"! - ask representatives of the National Board of the National Trade Union of Nurses and Midwives in a position paper dated September 9, 2025.
The CPSO is demanding:
- the immediate launch of a supplementary course in nursing for midwives at risk of losing their jobs - a course that has remained only a promise for months,
- to identify those responsible for delays in implementing this form of education,
- immediate response from the Ministry of Health and the Center for Medical Staff Training.
The union stresses that time is working against both patients and the health care system as a whole. - We cannot afford further delay," the document's authors warn.
The letter, along with the position paper, was submitted to the Medical Center for Postgraduate Education on September 11, 2025.
