In accordance with Resolution No. 5 of the First Extraordinary National Congress of Nurses and Midwives of September 23, 2024 on the amount of membership fee and the rules for its distribution, and in connection with the announcement of the President of the Central Statistical Office of February 9, 2026 on the average salary in the national economy in 2025, the membership fee in the period from March 2026 to February 2027 is PLN 89.00 per month.

Until now, as of April 1, 2025, the premium was PLN 82 per month.

Rules for distributing the premium

According to the current rules:

  • 6% of the contribution is transferred by the district chamber to the Supreme Chamber of Nurses and Midwives, which amounts to PLN 5.34 of the monthly contribution of each member of the local government,
  • The remainder of the contribution remains with the district chamber of nurses and midwives.

The premium for a given month must be paid by the 15th of the following month. The first contribution in the new amount must be paid by April 15, 2026.

Who is exempt from paying the premium

Only those who have reported the cessation of their profession and completed the formalities at the office of the relevant district chamber are exempt from paying the fee.

Why the premium is important

Funds from contributions enable the implementation of statutory activities to support nurses and midwives, including but not limited to:

  • Representing professional interests in the country and international institutions,
  • Supervision of the proper execution of the profession,
  • Participation in opinion and lawmaking,
  • reimbursements for courses, specializations and postgraduate training,
  • Funding and organization of vocational training,
  • Free access to an e-library with factual and legal materials,
  • Financial assistance and aid in difficult life situations,
  • Legal support and career counseling,
  • Assistance in matters related to the right to practice the profession,
  • Measures to improve working conditions and develop competence,
  • Organization of conferences and community meetings,
  • Keeping abreast of legal and professional developments.

The membership fee is not only a statutory obligation, but also a common tool for strengthening the safety and development of the nursing and midwifery profession.
