Not from May 8, but from the beginning of July, new drug dosage templates are to go into effect. The change of date is the Health Ministry's response to the comments of the Healthcare Employers' Alliance about the harmful effects of the "dosage-table" changes on both patients and doctors. - We understand the Health Ministry's decision unequivocally as giving ourselves time to improve the dosage rules and the long-awaited overhaul of drug reimbursement rules," comments Bozena Janicka, president of PPOZ.

PPOZ has repeatedly raised the topic of changing drug dosage templates in letters to the Ministry of Health, the Patient Ombudsman and the Ombudsman.

Justifying their position, the PPOZ doctors pointed out that the introduction of further changes with still unresolved problems in the area of drug reimbursement will mean a total mess in drug dosage, resulting in numerous undesirable mistakes for neither patients nor doctors.

In response, the Health Ministry said it had postponed the introduction of the new "dosimeter" by two months.

- This information satisfies us, but only partially. We understand the postponement of the deadline by two months unequivocally as giving ourselves time to improve the regulation on "dosomat", as well as to work out clear, transparent rules for drug reimbursement, which in its current form is a huge problem," says Bożena Janicka.
