In the National Cancer Strategy, the target of vaccination against HPV is 60%. the population of girls and boys in adolescence by the end of 2028. The elimination of cervical cancer and other HPV-related diseases is also a priority for the entire European Union, while Poland is the only country in the EU that does not have a national HPV vaccination program.

Last year, patient organizations prepared a petition calling on the minister of health to take action to increase the availability of the HPV vaccine among girls and boys, to implement the provisions of the National Oncological Strategy, and to submit to the Ministry of Health a draft Health Prevention Program in the field of vaccination against HPV.

Anna Nowakowska, founder of the Association for Fighting Cancer Diseases SANITAS, we ask about:

  • implementation of measures for vaccination against HVP;
  • what is the fate of the proposed program;
  • importance of educational activities on increasing awareness of HPV-dependent cases
