- Medical assistance can be obtained at the nearest night and holiday health care facility, which accept 24-hour services on holidays. You do not need a referral and prior reservation. Also, there is no regionalization, so the patient will be accepted by any Night and Christmas Healthcare facility, even outside the place of residence. You can check the nearest point in your area on the NFZ website," explains Agnieszka Białas-Sitarska, spokesperson for the Świętokrzyskie branch of the NFZ.
Night and holiday healthcare clinics accept patients from 6:00 pm to 8:00 am the next day (Monday through Friday) and around the clock on Saturdays, Sundays, holidays. No referral or prior registration is needed. Within the framework of night and holiday health care, the doctor on duty will provide advice on an outpatient basis, by telephone, and in medically justified cases also at the place of residence or stay.
- Night and holiday health care includes medical advice, nursing treatments such as injections, sick leave if there are medical indications, and e-prescriptions for needed medications. However, we will not obtain a follow-up visit for previously initiated treatment, a prescription for permanent medication for a chronic disease, or a health certificate, the spokesperson lists.
In the event of an emergency, a deterioration of a life-threatening condition, we can use hospital emergency departments or emergency rooms.
- We report to the ED and IP only in life-threatening conditions, similar to calling 999 or notifying the emergency number 112," adds Agnieszka Białas-Sitarska.
In the event of a sudden toothache, we can use dental emergency facilities (weekdays from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the next day, Saturday, Sunday and holidays - 24 hours a day). In the late evening hours, in the case of an emergency or medical event that does not require the assistance of an ambulance or Hospital Emergency Department or Emergency Room, patients can go to the following clinics for help: surgery, orthopedics and ophthalmology
For 24 hours a day - including during the May weekend - consultants of the National Health Fund's hotline remain at the disposal of patients: 800 190 590. They will provide all necessary information on medical assistance during the long weekend.
Among other things, the consultants will suggest where the nearest hospital and night and holiday health care facility is.
