On July 12, 2026, an amendment to the Minister of Health’s regulation concerning the permits and documents required for the import, export, intra-Community acquisition, or supply of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and Category 1 precursors. Consequently, the format of the document authorizing the transport of these substances for personal medical use will change.
According to the Main Pharmaceutical Inspectorate, the change applies only to the document template. Documents issued before the new regulations take effect remain valid under the terms set forth in current law.
The GIF also reminds applicants of the need to submit their applications well in advance, especially during the summer vacation period, when the number of applications increases significantly. The Inspectorate recommends that applications be submitted at least 15 days before the planned trip.
As the GIF emphasizes, this will allow for the efficient conduct of administrative proceedings and the issuance of the document before departure. Applications submitted shortly before the planned trip may not be processed in a timely manner.
When planning the deadline for submitting documents, you should take into account not only the time needed for the agency to review them, but also the time it takes for the postal service to deliver them.
