Following further appeals from the medical community, the company assures that it has begun the process of phasing out controversial titles, although, as it points out, the changes will not be immediately apparent.

Doctors already pointed out at the beginning of the year that magazines promoting pseudoscientific treatments can be purchased in Post Office facilities. Their content, they stressed, was sometimes not only outrageous, but also potentially dangerous for patients. The publications included recommendations to treat cancer with cabbage, depression with a conversation with a chiropractor, and back pain with a tincture of grated horseradish.

The most controversial was the "Healer's Guide" magazine. - I have nothing against eating cabbage," says Michal Bulsa, president of the Regional Medical Council in Szczecin, "but how can you claim that cabbage poultices will cure cancer? This is misleading people.

The Regional Medical Council in Szczecin has announced further addresses to the President of the Polish Post, the Minister of State Assets and the Minister of Health. - We are discussing the Lex Charlatan law, we are outraged at quacks and naturopaths, and at the same time their periodicals are available at the post office. This is put on the back burner," adds the ORL president.

The Polish Post responded to these allegations. In a statement sent to the editors of MedExpress.co.uk, the company said it had already decided to withdraw the mentioned titles from sale. "Due to signed contracts, commitments made and complex business processes, the withdrawal cannot take place immediately. The effects of the decision will be visible only in a few months." - conveyed the Press Office of the Polish Post.
