As part of the initiative, Enea, together with the Healthy Child Foundation, prepared brochures in which young people can find the most important information about depression. In the publication, they will also find stories of their peers suffering from mental disorders.
– Mental health problems are a shameful topic. In our society, it is not well received that someone struggles with them, which is a terrible mistake. We are wasting human lives. Our booklet consists of several pages telling stories of kids who tried to commit suicide and who openly talked about what was bothering them. We want to let people know that there are institutions that can help these young people - said Justyna Tkaczyk-Kurek from Enea Wytwarzanie in an interview with journalists.
As noted in an interview for Radio Plus Radom, medicine. Czesław Czechyra, MD, head of the pediatric ward of the hospital in Kozienice, a disturbing signal that may indicate depression, should be primarily a change in the behavior of their child for parents.
– A young man gives a signal that he has a problem. It can be insomnia, headaches, abdominal pain or reluctance to leave the room. In such a situation, you need to look at the child, talk to him in a friendly way. Parents are often busy and may miss these first signals, the doctor said.
In Poland, there is a free nationwide helpline for children. It is available on the telephone number 116 111, every day from 12:00 to 22:00. You can send an anonymous message via the www.116111.pl/napisz website.
