Adam Niedzielski: We are aiming for 7 percent. GDP for health

“We are systematically moving towards 7 percent. GDP for health," wrote the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, on Twitter. He added that the growth rate of expenditure on health care is faster than planned.

The infographic attached to the entry shows that expenditure on health care in 2021 amounted to PLN 141.3 billion, which is almost twice as much as in 2015 (PLN 77.2 billion). Expected expenditures in 2022 and 2023 are PLN 156.5 and 159.6 billion, respectively. The amounts for the years 2021-2023 exceed the level of 6 percent. GDP.

"The pace in the last two years has been faster than expected. We have added an additional over PLN 43 billion to the plans in execution. Health is the priority of the government of the United Right,” wrote the head of the Ministry of Health.

Recall that in August 2021, an amendment to the Act on health care services financed from public funds was passed. According to it, spending on health is to increase to 7% of GDP. GDP in 2027
