Health care budget. Is it a sufficient amount?

Recall, the government on Wednesday approved the draft budget for 2025. It will now go to the Social Dialogue Council. We will spend PLN 222.2 billion on health next year, according to the plan. This is 600 million more than the 7 percent of GDP minimum stipulated in the law.
During the Children and Adolescent Health Congress, we asked Deputy Health Minister Wojciech Konieczny whether such quotas are an optimum or a compromise.
- We will find out soon enough. I think it is more of a compromise. These are measures that had to be guaranteed. I could say that we have to fit in, but I could also say that, as we know from history, the situation sometimes forces changes in such plans. So will that much money be in the health care system next year, or will there be no need for some adjustments? I wouldn't be so bold as to say that this money will definitely be enough," said Wojciech Konieczny.
Meanwhile, according to estimates by the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs, included in the Health Care Financing Monitor, the gap between the system's needs and the level of funding could exceed PLN 20 billion.
