Changes to long-term care regulation - towards comprehensive patient care
Published April 15, 2025 11:42
Key changes envisioned in the project:
Premiums for comprehensive medical infrastructure
Table No. 1 (Annex No. 6 to the regulation) provides for additional points in bid competitions for providers who have in the same location:
- Departments: internal medicine, general surgery, neurology (for adults),
- Departments: pediatric, pediatric surgery, pediatric neurology (for mechanically ventilated children and adolescents),
- specialty clinics,
- imaging diagnostic laboratories (X-ray, CT, MRI),
- medical diagnostic laboratory.
Increased scoring for availability and staff qualifications
In home care for mechanically ventilated patients (both adults and children), the weighting of the "comprehensiveness" and "availability" criteria has been increased.
Additional points will also be given to providers who employ nurses with the appropriate specialization or qualification course if they make up at least 40% of the team.
New "Comprehensiveness" criterion
A new evaluation criterion has been introduced, rewarding providers who provide inpatient services in addition to home care - for both adults and mechanically ventilated children and adolescents.
Changes in scoring
To emphasize the importance of comprehensive care, some of the points from the existing "Continuity" criterion (Table 2) have been moved to the newly added elements of the "Comprehensiveness" criterion.
