Picnic is ahead of us. The lucky ones will laze around for four days, the weather is traditionally "checkered", but in some parts of the country the temperatures will "brush" by as much as 20 degrees Celsius. - Nothing, just gasp for fresh air, but also remember that the pandemic has no time off! Let's use common sense while resting! When we find ourselves in a crowd of unknown people, let's put on a mask. While it's not an obligation anymore, it's also not a shame! - emphasizes Bożena Janicka, president of the Alliance of Healthcare Employers.

For several years, the May weekends have had completely different faces. At the beginning of the pandemic, we spent a picnic in confinement, then with limitations and a soul on our shoulder: "will it ever end ?!". We looked for a loosening of the restrictions with hope. Opening cinemas, galleries, sports halls…

- And finally we live to see it! But are we able to use the regained freedom reasonably? Unfortunately, we are observing with concern many cases of very risky behavior. Although the Minister of Health has removed the obligation to wear masks in public places, he still recommends this way of behaving, especially where there are a lot of people. In crowded shops, buses, cinemas. Meanwhile, people with masks on their faces are met with ironic glances and even malicious comments. Yes, the number of SARS-CoV-2 infections is declining, but patients still get sick! And it's hard. Some die, or they will face complications for the rest of their lives. So if we do not care about our own health, let us be responsible for the health of others. Especially the elderly, weaker and sick. As you know, the May weekend is good for trips. Hotels, guesthouses, restaurants, cinemas will be full ... Let's put on a mask where we find ourselves surrounded by other, unknown people - advises Bożena Janicka.

Doctors of the Healthcare Employers' Alliance also encourage vaccination. Not only the boosters (a second dose for 80 plus seniors is now available), but the whole "kit".

- The vaccinated person is safer! It's easy! Vaccination points are still waiting. And we wish all Polish patients a sunny, but most of all a healthy picnic - say the PPOZ doctors.
