Referrals for ages 12 and over will be issued on Thursday night through Friday.

- This way we extend the group of eligible persons for the second booster vaccination. The group so far numbered over 5 million people. About 600,000 have benefited from vaccinations. of them. Tomorrow we will issue referrals for another 5.8 million people. Thus, about 9 million people will be vaccinated, said the head of the Ministry of Health.

As Adam Niedzielski informed, Poland has a guaranteed supply of 4 million preparations in September. About 2 million vaccines are to be secured in the country by the start of the weekend.

- The strategy of the Member States is based on the wide availability of preparations that will protect people against the severe consequences of Covid-19 disease - explained Grzegorz Cessak, president of the Office for Regulatory Medicines.

Grzegorz Cessak emphasized that vaccines protecting against the BA.1 variant are as effective as BA.4/BA.5. Patients will not be able to choose which of these preparations to vaccinate. Primary vaccinations will continue to be carried out with the basic vaccine.

Minister Adam Niedzielski also informed that the activities of the Ministry of Health are now also focused on securing the supply of new batches of drugs against Covid-19. They are to be sent to hospitals and will be prescribed primarily to patients at risk.

The head of the health ministry added that while the number of infections has been increasing in recent days, the number of new hospitalizations remains stable. The minister does not expect any sharp increases in the coming weeks and does not expect any additional restrictions.
