The Central Statistical Office reports data on pharmacies and pharmacy outlets.
CSO: Number of pharmacies declines

According to the Central Statistical Office, at the end of 2022, 11.7 thousand pharmacies (public and company pharmacies) and 1.1 thousand pharmacy points were in operation. They employed 57.8 thousand master pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, the vast majority of whom were women.
CSO data shows that the number of pharmacies declined by 1.8% year-on-year, and the number of pharmacy outlets declined by 2.4% year-on-year in 2021.
At the end of 2022, there were 63.2 thousand people working in pharmacies and pharmacy points: 25.8 thousand master pharmacists and 32 thousand pharmacy technicians.
