On Tuesday, September 6, at the Primary School in Mysłakowice in the Dolnośląskie Voivodeship, Health Minister Adam Niedzielski announced that the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Science and Higher Education are planning to introduce health lessons for the youngest primary school students throughout Poland as part of educational hours. - The most important, from my point of view, is that children will learn from an early age what it means to live healthy, and on the other hand, that health really becomes our common value, a common good - said the head of the Ministry of Health.
The introduction of health classes, as he emphasized, is a joint initiative of many institutions, which is part of the Healthy Life campaign launched by the presidential couple. Niedzielski thanked the National Institute of Public Health and the Chief Sanitary Inspectorate, which prepared educational materials for students and teachers.
- The post-sovid, popandemic period, after remote learning, triggered the launch of several programs that addressed the problems that arose after that period, emphasized in turn the Minister of Education and Science Przemysław Czarnek. - With the help of the Academy of Physical Education, we implemented the "PE from AWF" program. We allocated PLN 70 million for this - he said. - In addition to physical activity, we also want to focus on a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating. We took advantage of the offer of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences and launched the "Junior Edu-Nutrition" program together with the National Institute of Public Health, for PLN 20 million (...). This is a research and educational program that will allow teachers all over Poland to use professional educational materials on healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. These will be materials prepared by scientists from, one could say, such a flagship of Polish science as the Warsaw University of Life Sciences. For this, I would like to thank the scientists from the Warsaw University of Life Sciences - he said.
Deputy Minister of Education Marzena Machałek emphasized that the essence of the new program is to establish healthy habits in the youngest students in an accessible way. - As a result, children will enter a healthy adult life responsible for their own health. Awareness of responsibility for one's own health should be built from childhood: on the one hand, exercise, and on the other hand, healthy eating and good mental condition, said the deputy minister.
