Hematooncology: How to spend money efficiently?

When we analyze the National Health Fund's data and spending on oncology and hemato-oncology treatment, we can indeed see definite increases over the past few years, but shouldn't we put the emphasis on how, effectively spend this money?

Certainly, this is an issue that is always worth thinking more deeply about, for the reason that we see this growth and it is more than one hundred percent as of 2019. So it is necessary to focus efforts now on making sure that this money, which is indeed coming in more and more, is used more efficiently and better in the therapeutic process.

And where do we have weaknesses? Is it a matter of more in-depth data analysis?

This is a component of many factors, including regarding the use of this data, of which, after all, we have a huge amount. I believe that this also largely depends on the organizational activities of individual facilities. This should give precisely this effect of additional money, better used.

Let's go into a little more detail. What do these increases refer to? Was more money spent on drug programs or on diagnostics?

We are talking about the whole. Also about drug programs and new technologies like CAR-T. Also mainly this is what we're talking about just hematooncological diseases. And it's definitely worth putting emphasis on this kind of activities as well.

We also talk to Professor Ewa Lech-Marańda, who is in charge of creating the hematology network. Do you think that systemic solutions can also optimize these expenses?

The best way to solve this is systemically. Enforce certain processes and don't leave them to their own devices. In this area, Ms. Professor is an authority and her comments are certainly worth taking advantage of.
