Temporary hospital at the National Stadium under the magnifying glass of the NIK. There is a notice to the prosecutor's office

The NIK communiqué reads that the audit activities at the Prime Minister's Office revealed significant facts regarding operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. There was a failure to ensure that public funds were spent purposefully and economically and that the duties of the administrative body were carried out diligently.
On October 19, 2020, the Prime Minister issued an administrative decision on the establishment of a temporary hospital at the PGE facility of the National Stadium in Warsaw. However, he disregarded the factual clarification of the actual need for a specific number of beds for COVID-19 patients. A similar omission occurred in the case of a poor estimate of the availability of beds for COVID-19 patients in already existing hospitals in Warsaw. These, on the other hand, would have been sufficient to secure treatment for COVID-19 patients, with an adequate reserve.
According to the NIK, as a result of this omission, the State Treasury suffered a loss of PLN 69,813.4 thousand.
