Law on National Oncology Network signed by the President

As Andrzej Duda pointed out, work on issues related to improving health care for the treatment of oncological diseases has been carried out since the beginning of his presidency. - Finally, we are creating the National Oncology Network - a national network of institutions with the entire system of oncological treatment, the fight against oncological diseases in such a way as to favor the patient as much as possible and to facilitate patient access on equal terms and to an equal degree to oncological care throughout the country, so as to create an opportunity for everyone," stressed the president, who visited the Siedlce Oncology Center operating within the St. John Paul II Mazovian Regional Hospital in Siedlce.
The President was accompanied by Minister Grazyna Ignaczak-Bandych, head of the CPRP and a member of the Health Care Council. Health Minister Adam Niedzielski also attended the signing ceremony.
The Law on the National Oncology Network envisages the introduction of a new model for the management of oncology care in Poland, which is expected to improve the organization of the system for providing health care services in this area. It also stipulates that medical entities meeting the eligibility criteria set forth in the law will form a National Oncology Network. The NSO is to provide comprehensive oncological care throughout the country, and the various stages of treatment are to follow strictly defined standards, with the cooperation of specialists in various fields.
