New director of eHealth Center

Adam Konka, appointed to the post by Health Minister Jolanta Sobieranska-Grenda, has become the new director of the e-Health Center. He replaced the previous director of the CeZ, Małgorzata Olszewska.
Adam Konka is an experienced manager and e-health expert. For more than a decade, from 2012 to September 2024, he headed the Silesian Medical Technology Park Cardio-Med Silesia in Zabrze - a leading regional and national research and training unit, established on the initiative of Prof. Marian Zembala and Zabrze City Mayor Dr. Małgorzata Mańka-Szulik.
From 2014 to May 2025, he served as a member of the board of directors of the Silesian Center for Heart Diseases Foundation. He also worked with Prof. Marian Zembala at the Ministry of Health as an advisor to the minister on governance and health care information systems.
- The main directions I will want to emphasize in my role as director of the e-Health Center will be, first of all, the implementation of e-Health projects financed from the KPO, including the e-registration system. Developing IKP and the myIKP application will also be a priority for me, as well as fruitful cooperation with the Ministry of Digitization in the area of mCitizen and data cyber security," Adam Konka noted. - I would like both patients and medical facilities to soon have at their disposal further IT tools that will make the quality of health services improved and waiting times shorter, he added.
CeZ's new director has been involved in the development of modern technologies in the health sector for years. He supports medical, biotechnology, telemedicine and IT start-ups in the area of MedTech and BioTech. He heads the Expert Team for AI and Decision Support Algorithms at the Regional Chamber of Commerce in Katowice, and also sits on the Artificial Intelligence Committee at the National Chamber of Commerce in Warsaw and on the Board of the Biotechnology Center at the Silesian University of Technology.
Adam Konka is a graduate of the School of Management with a degree in Management Information Systems and an MBA in health care from Lazarski University. He has extensive experience in managing complex R&D and IT projects in healthcare. He is a member of the European Society of Cardiology and the Polish Society of Cardiology and the author of numerous scientific publications on e-health and m-health.
