Beginning in early March, the Gabriel Narutowicz City Specialized Hospital will temporarily suspend the operations of the Internal Medicine and Lung Diseases Ward and the Lung Diseases with Oncology Ward. As the hospital's management emphasizes, the changes are organizational in nature and are related to the shortage of medical staff, which makes it impossible to meet the National Health Fund's requirements for staffing the wards. The hospital stresses that this is not a liquidation of the departments, but a temporary suspension of their operation - planned no longer than until the end of August. At the same time, it assures that patients with lung diseases will continue to have guaranteed medical care.
Treatment of pulmonary patients will be provided in two internal medicine wards, which have a total of 65 beds, as well as in the Pulmonary Disease Outpatient Clinic. The facility is also continuing outpatient services, including a program for the treatment of severe asthma, provided by lung specialists.
The Gabriel Narutowicz Hospital is continuously recruiting, inviting specialist physicians to work with it. At the same time, it is developing outpatient care, treating it as one of the key elements in ensuring continuity of treatment.
As the facility's management emphasizes, all measures taken are aimed at maintaining the availability and quality of health services and ensuring patients' full health security despite temporary organizational changes.
