Piloting pharmacist services for reproductive health. Call for applications for pharmacies is underway - Header image

Based on a decree of the Minister of Health, on May 2, 2024, the National Health Service launched calls for applications for pharmacies that want to join the pilot program for pharmacist services for reproductive health (emergency contraception).

The pilot program will last until June 30, 2026, and participation is voluntary. The pharmacist's service is provided under a separate pharmacy contract with the National Health Fund.

The provincial branches of the National Health Insurance Fund are calling for applications for pharmacies that want to implement a pilot of a pharmacist's service for reproductive health, namely emergency contraception.

The basis for launching the intakes is the Health Ministry's April 29, 2024 regulation, which specifies, among other things:

  • who can join the pilot
  • To whom the service of a pharmacist may be given
  • what conditions the pilot implementer should meet
  • What the pharmacist's service, which is paid for by the National Health Service, consists of.

The National Health Fund has prepared a instruction step-by-step how to prepare for signing the contract.
