The Act of March 24, 2022 amending the Act on counteracting drug addiction changed the definition of hemp, the definition of non-fibrous hemp (by changing the content of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid from 0.20% to 0.30% converted to dry weight), the change of the hemp resin definition and the addition of the definition defining the RFID technology, which is a technology for remote object surveillance.
In addition, the law provides for the extension of the cultivation of non-fiber hemp and the harvesting of non-fiber hemp herb or resin for the production of pharmaceutical raw material. Crops and harvesting may only be carried out by research institutes within the meaning of the Act of 30 April 2010 on research institutes, supervised by the minister responsible for agriculture, after obtaining the authorization of the Main Pharmaceutical Inspector.
