The National Oncology Strategy is a multi-year program aimed at improving cancer prevention, diagnosis and treatment in Poland. The strategy, whose implementation began in 2020, was adopted by a resolution of the Council of Ministers. Its implementation follows an annually updated schedule, taking into account costs and funding sources.
Schedule for 2025 - key tasks
The draft schedule for 2025 includes:
- Continuation of tasks from 2020-2024, including educational, promotional and infrastructure activities.
- Launching new activities in 2025 to further support the oncology system.
Key areas of activity:
- Improving the staffing situation in oncology, which includes increasing the number of specialists and supporting their professional development.
- Educational and promotional campaigns aimed at the public, raising awareness of prevention and the importance of early detection of cancer.
- Promotion of clinical trials to increase patient participation in modern diagnostic and treatment programs.
- Infrastructure investments, including modernization of existing medical facilities, construction of new units and replacement of outdated diagnostic and treatment equipment.
The project is expected to be approved by the end of this year.
