The Supreme Medical Chamber has published an urgent communiqué calling for an immediate meeting with the prime minister and the president. According to the medical council, a letter to this effect has already been sent via formal channels.
The reason for the intervention is the growing threat to the stability of the health care system, the inability to hold a dialogue with the Ministry of Health, and numerous signals from medical facilities about the dire financial situation.
According to NIL, the consequences of the deepening crisis are already being felt and are directly hitting patients:
- Hospital departments are sounding the alarm about shortages of funds, leading to the postponement or suspension of services.
- Expert reports and data point to serious risks to the availability and quality of care due to the financial deficits of the National Health Fund.
- The responsibility for ensuring an efficient health care system rests with the state, and the medical self-government cannot be left without support in the face of such a serious crisis.
NIL assures that it is prepared to cooperate substantively and provide full documentation, data and proposals for solutions that could help stabilize the situation. The local government also declares its readiness to participate in talks at the highest level.
In its communiqué, it reminds that protecting the health of Poles must not be subject to further delays or political wrangling. "Concrete and swift action is needed," it says. - NIL urges.
