Medical errors and more
The activities of the Institute will include the preparation of a register of entities and persons issuing court-medical opinions, publicly available to principals, which is to facilitate the process of appointing experts and obtaining opinions. The facility will also deal with, for example, the analysis of the causes of medical errors, preparation of projects for changes in the health care system, development of medical and certification standards, training for medical experts and people interested in performing this function.
A central base will be created
The Institute is to support the prosecutor's office and courts, as many proceedings require an expert or team of experts opinion. In addition, law enforcement agencies sometimes found it difficult to determine who could give an opinion because there was no central database registering such services. Therefore, its creation, together with a list of experts and institutions ready to carry out orders, will help in the conduct of proceedings and shorten their time.
