The Ministry of Health gives healthcare entities more time to adapt to the new regulations

A draft regulation of the Minister of Health amending the regulation on the organizational standard of health care in the field of anaesthesiology and intensive care has been published.

The draft regulation introduces a change to the regulation of the Minister of Health of 16 December 2016 on the organizational standard of health care in the field of anaesthesiology and intensive care. The proposed change consists in extending the deadline for adapting medical entities running hospitals to the requirements set out in the normative part of the regulation, in terms of separation of anaesthesiology and intensive care units for adults and children, and maintaining the qualifications of medical staff. A similar change also applies to entities performing medical activities, such as outpatient health services or stationary and 24-hour health services other than hospital ones, in the scope of equipping anesthesia stations. The above-mentioned medical entities will be obliged to adapt to the above-mentioned regulations. requirements until December 31, 2023. In the current regulation, this deadline expires on December 31, 2022.

The draft regulation extends the deadline for adapting to the requirements set out in the regulation of the Minister of Health on the organizational standard of health care in the field of anaesthesiology and intensive care, medical entities running hospitals and entities conducting medical activities such as outpatient health services or stationary and 24-hour health services other than hospital, until December 31, 2023. Under the current legal status, this deadline expires on December 31, 2022. The need to extend the deadline for adaptation results primarily from the varied level of the equipment standard of the above-mentioned facilities. entities performing medical activity, as well as the availability of medical personnel, which poses a risk of limiting the level of securing access to services. Adoption of the proposed solution will allow entities that do not meet the requirements set out in the regulation to continue adapting activities in this respect.
