The Parliamentary Health Committee supported the issuing of prescriptions for influenza vaccines in pharmacies

– The amendment is intended to make flu vaccination easier, as the patient will not have to visit a doctor to get a prescription for a flu vaccine. He will receive this prescription at the pharmacy and at the same time qualification and vaccination will take place there - said the author of the amendment, MP Paweł Rychlik from Law and Justice.

The provision enabling such an operation will be included in the act on clinical trials. This solution raised doubts of Rajmund Miller, deputy chairman of the committee.

- We are introducing a legislative mess, because this provision goes beyond the scope of the act being processed, he noted.

In response to these allegations, the chairman of the Parliamentary Health Committee, MP Tomasz Latos from PiS, emphasized that the act on clinical trials was the one the committee worked on the earliest. Hence the idea to include the provisions on pharmaceutical prescriptions in its scope. He added that in the past, other significant changes were also introduced in this way. Finally, Rajmund Miller declared that his club (Koalicja Obywatelska - editor's note), due to the interest of patients, would support the proposed amendment.

MP Zdzisław Wolski from the Left expressed the opinion that the change should be introduced in this way, but it should be done much earlier. In turn, Bolesław Piecha from PiS added that the change is important because it will be permanent and not incidental. The extension of the powers of pharmacists in the field of prescriptions issued by them will also apply after the end of the epidemic.

In the end, the amendment was adopted unanimously.
