Over PLN 800 million is to be allocated next year for the reimbursement of new drugs. The Ministry of Health published a draft regulation on the allocation of the amount of financial resources in 2023, constituting an increase in the total budget for reimbursement.

As we read in the Implementation Impact Assessment, due to the increase in the total reimbursement budget next year, PLN 817,632,000 will be allocated to financing drugs, foodstuffs for particular nutritional uses and medical devices which have not yet been covered by reimbursement. zloty. This is more than four times more than in 2022 (176 million 503 thousand). On the other hand, 500,000 zlotys will be allocated to finance the expected increase in reimbursement due to changes in the Characteristics of Medicinal Products or clinical practice. zlotys. - in the amount of PLN 500,000. The Ministry of Health plans to secure PLN 3.8 billion to provide a reserve to cover the costs of healthcare services and drugs.

The total budget for the reimbursement next year is to amount to over PLN 20.5 billion. And to be higher than last year's by about PLN 4.5 billion.

Increasing the reimbursement budget is to improve access to health services. The draft regulation was submitted for consultation on Tuesday (11 October). Comments can be submitted for 30 days.
