Tomorrow starts today

And we lived to see it. Our strategy, which does not go into the causes and changes so that nothing changes, has been recognized. "The government has accepted the enormous mortality and does not want to change anything," writes one of the world's best cited magazines, The Lancet.
A good strategy, like a good healing process, begins with finding the causes and fixing from scratch. We repair this plane in flight, and the destination is the election won. Everything is treated with paracetamol and sometimes morphine. It hurts, let's give something quickly and it may stop, as long as we get rid of the problem. Or maybe if a leg hurts, let's knock on the head, then the patient will forget about the pain in the leg for a moment. Or maybe let's find the culprit, why does it hurt? Or maybe let's keep quiet. It started by itself, let it go by itself - at least from the outside it looks like this.
The medical council did not get along and left. Well, sorry, maybe "let them go". If necessary, we will take a new one. Health is health and politics is politics. Let's throw this "hot potato" somewhere, throw this ball to another field and blame those who infected you. Meanwhile, your grandfather, your aunt, their friend are no more.
In the first half of 2020, compared to 2021, we are in the black by over 60,000 deaths. According to the Central Statistical Office: "the number of deaths in the first half of 2021 exceeded by over 70 thousand. the average annual value from the last 15 years (271 thousand to 199 thousand). The highest intensity of deaths was recorded at the turn of March and April 2021 - they were registered about 70% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year ”. It wasn't just COVID patients that died excessively.
One cannot disagree with the eminent Polish oncologist who wrote in a short commentary on these data: "it looks like we were at war".
According to a study by the Independent Team of Experts of the Continue Curatio and the My Patients Foundation, in mid-2021 as many as 8% of Poles (i.e. some 2.4 million) believed that from the beginning of the pandemic their health deteriorated due to lack of access to care specialist, treatments, medical tests. The latest research of the Foundation also says that 74% of Poles surveyed complain about worse access to diagnostics of diseases other than COVID-19, and 67% are dissatisfied with the way healthcare works.
Everything seems to indicate that it is politically safer to patch the current holes and run on painkillers than to take strategic moves, because everyone is already used to the fact that healthcare is a lottery. Strategic causal reform could only upset those who have learned to swim in this murky water, and what is worse, those who sit in the armchair have an opinion and someone try to command something. It cannot be said that this government is doing nothing. He even makes a book, everything is correct in the table at the top, only that these are not robots' fairy tales. There are people at the SOR, and the procedure is too low and Salomon will not do it.
One thing is certain "The Lancet" in this context is a shame for Poland. And the results of excess deaths are a drama. Good treatment, like a good strategy, looks for causes, errors and fixes them. Bad, he heals every pain with paracetamol, he makes holes with plasticine, he tosses the ball to the other side of the field and rules what he will divide, and even if it is correct in the table, it does not work. And if, as the professor said, we are “at war”, we must remember that the time when it seems that we have already got used to the situation usually ended with an uprising. Poles cannot be treated as items in the table. We know that every tomorrow starts today.
