On March 1, the vaccination obligation will apply only to medics, but not to teachers and representatives of uniformed services, informs the Ministry of Health.

Reason? There is too little time left for representatives of groups other than health care professionals and medical students, because they are also covered by the ordinance of the minister of health, to get vaccinated.

Mandatory vaccinations for three professional groups - medics, teachers and uniformed services - Adam Niedzielski announced a few months ago, so the explanation presented by Wojciech Andrusiewicz, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, should be considered at least bizarre. The real reason why only healthcare workers are required to vaccinate on March 1 is because the government refuses to extend it to any other occupational group. This disagreement was manifested from the moment Adam Niedzielski announced his intention to introduce mandatory vaccination for some professions.

- In the case of medics, we are talking about the fact that from March 1 this obligation will be enforced, which means that such a person will have to be fully vaccinated - said Andrusiewicz on Tuesday, reminding that medics are also obliged to vaccinate against jaundice. - Without these vaccinations, no doctor or nurse in this country will be admitted to the patient. It's similar here. You cannot admit someone who is not a person safe for patients - Andrusiewicz pointed out, adding that the director of a given facility will decide whether he will transfer an unvaccinated person to the administrative department or make a different decision.

What percentage of healthcare professionals are vaccinated? The complete vaccination cycle (basic) is completed by 92 percent. doctors and 88 percent dentists and 87 percent laboratory diagnosticians. 83% of nurses, midwives and pharmacists are vaccinated, while physical therapists - 74%. This means that around one hundred thousand healthcare workers in the first decade of February did not have a full vaccination course behind them. This number will probably decrease somewhat by March 1, but a particular challenge will be to arrange the nurses and physiotherapists' schedules, if the unvaccinated people (who do not document any contraindications for vaccination) are to be removed from working with patients.

The Ministry of Health pretended that it did not see the problem (when asked about the possibility of deepening the staffing problems in the health service, the spokesman replied that "the doctor should be, first of all, a person safe for the patient", which is a truism and does not refer to the essence of the question in any way ).
