Vaccines against COVID-19 have run out. Patients complain that they can't book a vaccination appointment, and when such a possibility was launched - the new formulation that protects against the Kraken variant was available at few outlets, mainly located in large cities.

Referrals for vaccination with the next dose were issued automatically on the night of December 5-6. Although the Ministry of Health had previously announced that the preparation would be available to all interested parties, the truth soon turned out to be quite different. The Nuvaxovid preparation, which protects against the latest variant of the coronavirus, was available at relatively few outlets in the country. In Warsaw, for example, slots for a vaccination appointment were free to reserve at two facilities. In the neighboring Mazovian province of Świętokrzyskie, appointments for the week of December 11-17 were available only in Kielce, the region's capital. In county towns, the preparation was unavailable.

Patients, however, complained not only about the poor availability of the new preparation, but also that the system suggested booking appointments using older preparations still backlogged at points. Today (Monday, 11.12.), reservations for vaccination cannot be made. Those wishing to be vaccinated are put on reserve lists. Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus infections continues to rise.

Senator Beata Malecka-Libera of the Civic Coalition believes that the way the vaccination campaign is going is the result of chaos and ineffective work of those in charge.

- The information went that you can be vaccinated everywhere. Everywhere, that is, where? Many centers that previously vaccinated do not have signed contracts. All these things we are seeing are the effects of delayed actions, which are taking a toll on the health of the population," says Beata Malecka-Libera in an interview with Medexpress.

We tried to inquire at the Health Ministry about when the vaccines might be available. Unfortunately, we were unable to contact a spokeswoman for the ministry.
