As the deputy head of the Ministry of Health added, the only effective method of fighting the pandemic is vaccination, and the attitude of Poles to this topic has left much to be desired in recent months. Meanwhile, in China, the number of confirmed coronavirus infections is again increasing.

- This is disturbing information, but the fight against the virus was completely different there, said Waldemar Kraska.

In Poland, increasing social contact

had a major impact on developing immunity against the coronavirus

– Last summer, 17 million people were in contact with the coronavirus. If natural immunity is strengthened by vaccination, our population becomes more resistant - added the guest of Polish Radio.

The forecasts commissioned by the Ministry of Health show that in the second half of January there may be an increase in the number of coronavirus infections, but not one that will result in a significant burden on the health care system. The pandemic is supposed to gradually die out.
