Warsaw: There will be a change in the position of president of the ORL

Piotr Pawliszak tendered his resignation for personal reasons, which make it impossible for him to continue in his position in his current capacity. As he stresses, because of his sense of responsibility for the local government and his serious approach to the mission entrusted to him, he felt that the Chamber should be led by someone who will be able to engage fully in the activities arising from being president. He will serve as president for the next two weeks, after which one of the vice presidents - selected by the ORL at its March 27 meeting - will take over the duties until the convention.

We publish a statement from ORL President Piotr Pawliszak:

Dear Sirs,

I would like to kindly inform you that I have decided to resign from the position of President of the District Medical Council in Warsaw, effective March 12, 2024, for personal reasons, the reconciliation of which with my commitment to local government work in its current dimension is not possible. Despite attempts over the past few weeks to reconcile these two areas, in view of their ineffectiveness, it is with undisguised disappointment that I find it impossible to continue my mission in the position entrusted to me.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the unique opportunity and great honor associated with the opportunity to lead the work of the District Medical Council in Warsaw over the past less than 2 years. It has been a unique experience for me, allowing me to develop personally and broaden my perspective on the issues of the health care system in Poland and the conditions for practicing medicine. Working with such extraordinary people, vividly involved in the activities of the self-government, was an exceptional privilege for me, which also positively influenced many aspects of my life that were not directly related to my function.

To a certain extent, my decision closes a stage, but at the same time opens up new directions of activity. I am confident that the team I have completed will finalize the projects we started together and create our own, which will be positively received by our environment. Changes always release new energy and have causal potential. In the current circumstances, it will be largely the responsibility of the District Medical Council to make the most of this situation.

Thank you very much for your trust, many expressions of support and sympathy. The fate of the local government will remain close to my heart, and I declare my readiness to serve with my experience and support to the new president, and to make the transfer of responsibilities as smooth as possible. I wish all those involved in the work of our local government success in meeting the challenges.
