Wojciech Andrusiewicz: The situation is stabilizing

– We forecast that we will still see some stabilization in terms of influenza infections or RSV virus – predicted Wojciech Andrusiewicz, spokesman for the Ministry of Health, in an interview with Polsat News. He added that the peak of RSV infections is behind us.

- While 1.5 weeks ago we were talking about twice as many hospitalizations among children due to RSV, at the moment these figures have evened out. Flu hospitalizations are at a similar level to those for RSV, the spokesman said.

Although we can talk about stabilization, the number of infections is still at a high level. About 300,000 are listed. infections per week, i.e. about 40,000 daily. Such levels were not recorded in previous years.

- That is why it is quite important to ensure access to medicines and to provide beds in hospitals, with particular emphasis on hospitalization of children - added Wojciech Andrusiewicz.

About 10,000 are currently occupied. pediatric beds (out of 17,000 prepared in the entire system).
