There used to be such billboards in Poland, "I am knitting myself". They showed a criminal getting a tattoo. I don't remember what it was about anymore, at least it wasn't a campaign against tattooing. Besides, tattooing in prison had a specific informative purpose (defining a place in the prison hierarchy). However, it is not very clear what it is supposed to serve on the bodies of many ordinary people. I mean you know.

It is supposed to beautify. Indeed, there is something like permanent makeup that can cover some minor flaws in your beauty. Or, you can imagine some real artist designing a tattooed work of art on a person's body. But what you can see on the beaches of Europe, and more and more often in Poland, is the festival of beztuści. Various pictures scattered without order and composition all over the body, stories of successive relationships, etc., sometimes Chinese characters, the meaning of which their carrier does not know, and if he did, he would probably feel uncomfortable.

The prevalence of the phenomenon shows, on the one hand, the potential of people to self-harm and, on the other hand, their susceptibility to advertising. In order to familiarize future clients with the procedure, even the smallest children are offered a "tattoo washable". Adults, on the other hand, are tempted by images of people who may be personal role models, e.g. with the bodies of millionaires playing football professionally. It's not actually an industry. It is an "industry" - hundreds of private establishments that are usually called "studio" or "salon".

On the other hand, even the most permanent tattoo fades and looks like a faded banner over time. Finally, skin aging is more visible in the tattooed area. But the business is spinning, because "for a small fee" you can laser remove the "mistakes of youth".

But maybe instead of making holes in people who need marks on their skin, just paint them? Firstly, it is less durable, and secondly, you can rub and change it more often.
