- This is a completely new surgical technology that we have used to perform coronary interventions so far in several of our patients," reports Jerzy Sacha, MD, head of the Hemodynamic Research Laboratory at USK in Opole.

- Supporting an experienced doctor by artificial intelligence and performing a procedure by a robot is the present and the inevitable future, in which we absolutely want to participate. We are well prepared, motivated and fully competent to do so," adds Dr. Sacha.

Operations are currently being performed at the USK in Opole using a borrowed robot. - We hope that in the future it will become a permanent fixture in our laboratory, and thus we will join the international group of centers using robots in the treatment of coronary diseases and participating in the development of robotic technology. We would then be the seventh center in the world (next to the French, German and Belgian centers) participating in this project. This is a huge opportunity for international recognition for our university hospital," assesses Prof. Sacha.

- Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of death in Poland. We are dynamically developing the fields of medicine that treat these diseases at our center. We plan to build a Cardiovascular Center, where patients will be comprehensively cared for by teams of cardiologists, vascular surgeons and neurosurgeons working together," comments Piotr Feusette, MD, Director of Treatment.
