The new app allows you to locate the nearest point with an AED defibrillator. In sudden cardiac arrest, the use of an AED increases the chance of survival from 5% up to 75%.

The application can be downloaded at aedmapa.pl.

The source of the data is the OpenStreetMap database. It is currently the largest points database, which contains more than 5499 defibrillators. New points are added on an ongoing basis. More information at: openaedmap.org

The operation of an AED (automated external defibrillator) is based on the principle of defibrillation, which is the delivery of controlled electrical impulses to the patient's heart to restore a normal heart rhythm.

It is important to remember that the AED defibrillator is designed for use by people without medical training, so it provides clear voice or visual instructions to guide the user through the defibrillation process.
