Children suffering from hemophilia A and B will soon be able to benefit from innovative emicizumab therapy. The Coordinating Unit at the Coordinating Team for the qualification and verification of treatment in the program for the prevention of bleeding in children with hemophilia A and B (the Institute of Mother and Child in Warsaw), together with the Department of Public Procurement of the Ministry of Health, has decided on an abbreviated purchasing procedure in order to provide children with access to the innovative hemophilia treatment as soon as possible.
The Health Ministry reminds that hemophilia treatment is already being provided with other reimbursed preparations and there is no risk of disruption. Children are under the care of 15 hemophilia treatment centers. Any child diagnosed with hemophilia is immediately transferred to a drug program for prophylactic treatment once the diagnosis is established.
