On November 1 this year, an amendment to the Reimbursement Act came into effect. Among other things, it provides for a reduction in patient fees for drugs manufactured in Poland to 10% and those containing domestically produced active substances to 15%. However, until today the Health Ministry has not published a list of them, and pharmacies will not be able to dispense them at a discount to patients. Reductions in patient surcharges may remain an unfulfilled promise, especially for those who are not in the group receiving free drugs.

Despite ongoing discussions between the Health Ministry and drug manufacturers on the implementation of this regulation, no list has been produced to enable implementation.

- We are ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Health so that the reductions in subsidies for Polish drugs will be implemented as early as November this year. - assures Krzysztof Kopeć, president of the National Drug Manufacturers. There is no doubt at all that the Ministry has failed to prepare the relevant guidelines well in advance for both manufacturers and, for example, Kamsoft, which operates most pharmacy systems. Without the fulfillment of specific conditions, the law cannot be implemented, although everyone was well aware of the November 1 deadline, says Irena Rej of the Chamber of Commerce "FARMATION POLAND."

A letter has been sent to the Council of Patient Organizations under the Minister of Health and the Council of Patient Organizations under the Patient Ombudsman on this issue:
