Dear Sirs,
My name is Alicja Lisowska and the fact that I suffer from epilepsy is the least important thing.
First and foremost, I am a mother of a wonderful daughter, a happy wife, I fulfill myself professionally and pursue my passions.
Epilepsy, with which I have struggled for more than twenty years - I have tamed and learned to live with it, and even now I treat it as a mission !
And just today, together with the EPI-BOHATER Foundation, of which I am President, I wanted to invite you to support the "Purple Day" campaign ! In Poland called Lavender Day!!!
The symbolism of Purple Day is purple, which represents hope, compassion and support for those affected by epilepsy. On Purple Day, people around the world dress in purple to show that they remember Us.
So let's meet on March 26 (Tuesday) at 6 p.m. in front of the Palace of Culture and Science, which will shine purple on that day, and TOGETHER celebrate the day.
In solidarity on March 26 (Tuesday), let's wear something purple-even a small accent-to show support and understanding for people with epilepsy.
Let's take a picture of ourselves posting it on social media, such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram with the hashtag #PurpleDayPoland2024. If you can't show up just post something at your place as a sign that you remember us. Together we can do more!

Other locations outside the Palace of Culture that will shine purple that day:
- Slasko-Dabrowski Bridge in Warsaw
- Ombudsman's office in Warsaw
- Enea Stadium in Poznań,
- Neptune's Fountain in Gdansk,
- Philharmonic in Szczecin,
- Podlasie Opera and Philharmonic in Bialystok
- Litewski Square in Lublin,
- Fr. Bernatek footbridge in Krakow
- Krakow Gallery
The Purple Day holiday has been celebrated since 2008 and in Poland few people have still heard of it.
Today I, Alicia from EPI-BOHATER, have this little dream for you to join in raising awareness and spreading knowledge about epilepsy. Epilepsy affects our lives, but it does not define who we are. Together we can do more !!!
I encourage you to check out the EPI-BOHATER Foundation website (foundationepibohater.org), https://www.facebook.com/FundacjaEpiBohater and join the campaign.
