The French drug manufacturer Sanofi wants to have a real impact on changes in the availability of therapy in low-income countries. And the word "impact" can be clearly emphasized here, because the distribution of drugs in a non-profit mode will be handled by a new brand: Impact.

Among the available therapies, there will be 30 Sanofi products, including those intended for patients with cancer, hypertension, malaria, and tuberculosis. There will also be insulin. In a word, these will be drugs that the World Health Organization (WHO) has included on the list of basic therapeutic needs. The aforementioned insulin, which saves the lives of diabetics, is still difficult to obtain in many countries.

To achieve this goal, the manufacturer created a new brand called Impact, which is part of Sanofi Global Health's non-commercial unit launched last year. Drug distribution is not enough. Impact is also a $ 25 million fund that will support local healthcare ventures, drug training, and ecosystem investments.
Sanofi has yet to provide details on the extent to which the new initiative will cut drug prices. It is known that it will mainly cover Africa.
